U1 underground - restricted service summer 2012

Vienna's U1 underground, is undergoing modernisation - partially in preparation for the extension of the line to the South. Consequently during July and August 2012 there will not be any service on the section between Schwedenplatz and Reumannplatz. While there will be extra tramlines (66 and 68) running, Wiener Linien is recommending using other routes too (e.g. Schnellbahn between Südtirolerplatz and Praterstern).The replacement lines will operate along the following routes: 

Line 66: Karlsplatz, Oper (U2/U4)  – Wiedner Hauptstraße  –  Matzleinsdorfer Platz (S-Bahn)  – Quellenstraße – Reumannplatz – Favoritenstraße – Oberlaa
Line 68: Schwedenplatz (U1/U4) – Ring (U3) – Prinz-Eugen-Straße  – Südbahnhof (S-Bahn) – Laxenburger Straße – Otto-Probst-Platz
