Cash payments only up to EUR 1,000 in Italy
New legislation has come into effect in Italy from 1 July 2012 limiting cash payments to EUR 1,000 - hitherto payments of up to EUR 2,500 could be made in cash. Useful to know for those of you who are buying furnishing in Italy.

Possibly to stem tax corruption maybe?
Good effort but maybe hard in a country rife with that type of culture
Thanks for the heads up, morgenhund!
