Great Book... No Idea What it Says

Postby Phrank » Sun Sep 19, 2010 5:17 pm

For those cyclists out there, if you do not already have a copy, I highly recommend the 'Argus Stadtplan Wien' for a city cycling map. Importantly, it shows where the cycling trails peter out so you can go back and find the trail again. I bought my copy at Cooperative Fahrrad on gumpendorfer.

Of course the guide would be even better if I could read German rather than making educated guesses....

Hi Phrank, if you're a dedicated leisure cyclist like me, you might also want to check out the Freytag & Berndt maps (shop in the Graben). They do 1:100000 and 1:50000 as well as a whole range of other maps for cycling and walking. A bit pricey as all maps are but I often find them on offer or in specialist bike shops if a little outdated. They recently had a cycling campaign doing the rounds at shopping centres, it's no longer at mine but maybe someone has noticed it at their centre. Lots of free maps there.

Thanks, I picked up a Danube series as I hope to ride it from border to border next spring.

Cheers,
