Bicycle Shops?
Hi all,
I need recommendations for bike shops with reliable services and, more importantly, staff who can speak English.
I am only here for the summer and the fall, but would love to own a bike to roam around the city on two wheels.
Through what venues do people in Vienna usually sell their bicycles? Are there any online forums that allow people to trade parts/bikes locally?
I have been trying to google for sources but couldnt really find any good leads...
Thank you for you help!

I have a bike you can have for free. The brakes need a bit of work, but the bike itself works fine. PM me.

Oh no I see the response a little too late!
I purchased a new bike at the Radhaus Singer near the university.
Amazing store by the way.
The owners are super friendly and helpful. I highly recommend them.

Any other recommendations for bike shops where the staff are helpful and speak English? Or is Radhaus Singer still the place? Thanks.

Re: Bicycle Shops?
Bumping this thread again, I didn't get any responses last time so thought I'd try one more time. I'm looking for a secondhand bike for a nine-year-old boy. I checked out Radhaus Singer and they only sell new bikes. Is there any place that has a lot of secondhand bikes for sale, or should I just look at small ads like Bazar and willhaben.at (which I am also doing)?
Also, in terms of makes and models, are there any particularly good ones that people would recommend? Thanks.

Re: Bicycle Shops?
Thanks Luvbeers. As I said I am already looking at willhaben but I was really hoping there was a second-hand bike shop where one could go and look at a whole bunch of these things at once. Maybe such a thing doesn't exist.
Also, I don't understand the size thing when it comes to children's bikes. Your search string included 20 Zoll so I guess you are saying that that is the right size for a nine-year-old, right? He is tall for his age, however. Obviously we need to try out a few for size. Thanks again.

Re: Bicycle Shops?
For second hand refurbished bikes there is a great little shop on Böcklinstrasse called Sator
http://www.sator-bike.at/
For makes and models there are many many, depends on the bike you want. But a quick run down of common good bikes in this part of the world:
Trek
KTM (Austrian brand!)
Specialized
Raleigh
Cannondale
Diamant
...

Re: Bicycle Shops?
Bump!
I went past another second hand bike shop on Sechskruegelgasse in the 3rd (Just opposite U3 Rochusgasse Market); had a load of them outside. Worth a look if anyone is after a cheap bike which comes with some guarantee and good setup.

Make it easy and go to Intersport / Eybl unless you are looking for a specific model they don't have
They are cheap and offer free service for the 3 months (they usually will not charge for your first service even after 3 months)
