Average price for Contact Lens exam in Vienna ?

Has anyone recently paid for a contact lens eye exam in Vienna ? I am wondering if it would be less expensive to do it in Vienna or get it done here in the States before our move. The exam including contacts would cost around $250 in my neck of the woods (Berkeley, CA.)

Get your exam in California, and buy your contacts there. The contact lenses here are the same however the price is a bit steep. With my softlenses a two year supply fit in my jacket pocket.

Also bring one big bottle of lense solution. That will give you time to get settled. After the commotion has died you can source solution here. Again pricey compared to the States, however very available.

Also if you intend to get a Drivers license here, bring your prescription with a date on it. If it is recent you will not have to get a new exam here before getting your license.

So how much did it cost you to get the exam and lenses ? Oh and BTW what's the deal with driving in Austria ? How can i convert to Austrian (EU) license and are you allawed to drive with American License for a specific period ? I am also planning on getting my international drivers license from AAA just incase i need it.

My contact lens test is free in England and I still have my lenses shipped over there - costs me around €40 for a 3 month supply (3xmonthly pair).

I was thinking of switching to an optician over here but it doesn't seem worth it.

I don't think anyone here has ever done a contact lense exam here that is why the question hasn't been answered yet.

The cost, however, for the driver's license exam is a standard €29. Quick check up of your eyes and your basic motor skills.
