New Traffic Laws - Rettungsgasse
If you drive in Austria you should be aware of a new law effective 1 January 2012 requiring drivers on 2-, 3- and 4-lane highways to make a clear path (Rettungsgasse) for emergency vehicles when a traffic jam forms. Note, you have to make the Rettungsgasse whenever there is a jam, not only when emergency vehicles are trying to get through and even if you know that the jam is not caused by an emergency.Further information can be found on the ÖAMTC website at: http://www.oeamtc.at/?id=2500,1372745,,&hppos=9Last edited by morgenhund on Wed Jan 04, 2012 10:55 am, edited 3 times in total.
