I would like to welcome you to the newly designed vienna-expats.net. As you can see, there have been some significant changes over the last few days. Our content management system has been replaced by Joomla, which is one of the leading open source CMSes on the market. Our forums have also been upgraded to PhpBB3 which is also one of the leading open source forums available. The primary reasons behind this upgrade is the fact that our old content management has been discontinued and that the new software will allow members of moderating/administration team to actively take part in building our site.

Unfortunately during the upgrade process we lost most of the avatar images that members have uploaded over the last year. The images are still available, so if you want it back and can’t upload it yourself please feel free to contact me and I will try to fix it.

I also ask that if you encounter any problems or errors while exploring our new site that you please post in this thread. I will do my best to address these issues as quickly as I can.

Two major sections of site will added ASAP, namely the Photo Gallery and the event sign-up system. The event sign-up system will be active within the next few days, while the gallery software might take a few weeks as I am still waiting for its final release.
